Discover Depth Therapy

We rely on a strong base of evidence.

Depth therapy, also known as psychodynamic therapy, has a strong base of evidence for long-term effectiveness.

Depth therapy considers the whole of who you are: any challenges you are facing, but also the deep longings and themes of your life, the layers that make up who you are, and paths to growth.

Most therapy today, such as cognitive behavior therapy, is problem-centered rather than person-centered: it identifies a specific problem you are facing and seeks to solve it. Which can be effective in the short term.

What distinguishes depth therapy is that the results are long term. A recurrent finding in the literature is that the benefits tend not only to endure but to increase with time.

Reflections

Thoughts on therapy.

“In analysis, you work to turn the ghosts that haunt you into ancestors who accompany you. That takes hard work and a lot of love, but it’s the way we lessen the burdens our children have to carry.”

— Bruce Springsteen, 2018
